I appreciate all the people who brought me articles from the Bee about how Goats eat everything.

So apparently, I have spoiled goats. Figures since I got them from Granite Bay.
They were probably hand fed. Probably fed fresh apples and fresh blackberries bushes.

I am sure it is way beneath them, literally, to eat off the bare ground. And of course me bringing them scraps from the restaurant doesn't help.

I wish I had something intelligent to say, but you know that is not going to happen.

Has anyone ever told you you were stupid, and as soon as they said it, you realized they were absolutely right?

Okay, so about a year ago, we moved the kids into their own home in Orangevale. On the side of my son’s house was a large lot that was difficult to maintain, so I got goats to keep it manageable. Lately, the weeds have been getting very tall.

I tried not feeding them and told all the neighbors not to feed them, but the grass kept growing. This last week, I had a veterinary appointment for their semiannual vaccinations. While she was there, I asked her why the goats weren’t eating the weeds.

She took her hat off, put her hands on her hips, stared at me, and—in what I think was a Texas accent—said, “Goats don’t eat weeds.”

This is where I tried to look intelligent, but failed miserably.

She went on to say, “They eat hanging vines, branches off trees, blackberries—but they don’t eat weeds. You need some sheep.”

Ten months after getting goats—which I was told would eat anything—I found out I knew nothing.

So now I need to hire a gardener.

Ok, I have always wanted to mow a Mona Lisa. I know you are confused but let me explain. May years ago I worked in the Bay Area and if you drove down the highway on the way to Fremont someone had carved out of a field up on the hill, an illustration of the Mona Lisa. Consequently, I have always wanted to mow a Mona Lisa in my front lawn area. I have included a a photo. Yes, I need more practice and yes she does resemble an Alien, but please give more time. 
 
Ok, she's back. The mother goose has apparently disregarded the threat of the Hawk nest and has laid about 8 eggs in her old spot. Today she covered the eggs up and joined her spouse in the neighbors pond. At the same time there were 2 other geese out front admiring the Mona Lisa when our new mom and her spouse, came flying over to chase them away. I assume it is because they want the Lisa untouched until her children are born, so the little geese can admire such great art.
 
At least something appreciates great art.
