Jun 2 - 8

So as most of you know, as described by Smash Mouth and Shrek,

“I ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed.”

Speaking of sheds, I had one built.

Ok, so we moved the kids into their own houses and next to my son’s house is a fully fenced large lot. In the past this lot has become a fire hazard, so we had it all cleaned up. Well, once we got it cleaned up, everything started to grow back again. So I, with my infinite intelligence decided to get goats. My neighbor told me he was tired of his goats so I said I will take them. So we built a shed for them and we put 3 goats with large horns in the lot. The problem is they are pampered and spoiled goats and don’t understand their job function.

I go over everyday and try to show them what to do, and then they all go to the food trough and stare at it trying to explain what I am supposed to do. I am currently looking for a goat labor mediator. If you have any ideas, please forward them, because, I am not that sharp.

May 26 - Jun 1

Ok, so it has been 2 weeks since we moved the kids into their own homes. Our son will have 3 roommates and our daughter 2.

We adopted the kids 24 years ago so we are having to adapt.

Raising special needs kids is challenging to say the least but so much time has gone into raising them that now our lives feel so different. Through the regional center we have hired 13 people to watch them 24/7 and that is like opening a 24 hour restaurant, so life is not that easy yet, but is all coming together.

Unfortunately, we kept the dogs with us and Phoebe has been having panic attacks in the middle of the night.

Wonderful, oh, and I am getting goats to do the gardening at my son’s house.

And you were worried I wouldn’t have anything to write about.

May 12 - 18

So last night we moved my son into his own home with some roommates and caregivers. Today we will move my daughter into her house with a caregiver and roommates will follow.

My wife and I have been working on this for close to 10 years, but it was a strange feeling to drive to FlapJacks alone in the car this morning. And as much as they drive me nuts, I wonder what a quiet dinner will be like.

The kids needed to learn to live on their own, but it took so long it will be a interesting adjustment for my wife and I.

Today, I get to move the chickens my daughter wanted for her house. I have never moved chickens before and since they  excel at being escape artists it should be an interesting trip.

All and all, life is never boring and we will see what the future brings.
