So last night we moved my son into his own home with some roommates and caregivers. Today we will move my daughter into her house with a caregiver and roommates will follow.
My wife and I have been working on this for close to 10 years, but it was a strange feeling to drive to FlapJacks alone in the car this morning. And as much as they drive me nuts, I wonder what a quiet dinner will be like.
The kids needed to learn to live on their own, but it took so long it will be a interesting adjustment for my wife and I.
Today, I get to move the chickens my daughter wanted for her house. I have never moved chickens before and since they excel at being escape artists it should be an interesting trip.
All and all, life is never boring and we will see what the future brings.
May 5 - 11
Fortunately, for you I have no video to go with the story.
Ok, I just get home from work and my wife is telling me that she is going out for lunch and to run around to do some errands. I tell her to go have some fun. Our lives are a little crazy right now trying to get the kids ready for the move. So I am changing from my dress clothes to my yard work clothes, as I look down I see my wife’s phone sitting on the dresser. I look down out the window and I see her getting ready to drive out the driveway.
At this point I am only wearing my underwear, however, I know how upset she will be to not have her phone. I see one of her blouses on the dresser and I throw it around me and I run out near naked and barefoot. Unfortunately her shirt is rather small and does not do what I was hoping it would do.
I am now running in the driveway trying to get her attention, when I realize that she is staring at me like out of a horror movie. Because I am holding the shirt up I am not able to show her the phone until I finally catch her.
I know at this point she would love to have a photo of me , but I would really like to have a photo of her face seeing me running half naked towards her.

We are watching the grandchildren this weekend while my oldest is here in Sac for a wedding. I do believe that she fed them lots of sugar and caffeine before she dropped them off. I just told my grandson to pick up his stuff and he told me “why, it’s your house?”
I do believe that all potential parents should watch someone else’s kids for a weekend before they make that life changing decision to have their own.

Ok, so the goose finally hatched her eggs, but not without lots of drama. Apparently, an old boyfriend showed up at the last minute, I assume claiming these were his babies. So the male goose who has stayed in the neighbors pond, over looking the mom and her nest the whole 4 weeks, was suddenly having it out, with what I am assuming is an ex in our own front yard. My wife had to go out and break it up.
So then when all the goslings are hatched they leave our property and go over to the neighbors fancy pond, and we are left with nobody, not even the ex.
Very disappointing.
Meanwhile, in the hall going into our bedroom from an outside deck, I found a birds nest again.
If I thought we had a chance of these birds staying, I would have given them a shot, but with my luck, they would be woodpeckers.
