Well, there are good stories, sad stories, funny stories, unusual stories, and long stories. You decide.
So I got stuck going to get something for Taylors, and so I got home near dark. Now the baby rescued peacock is in its own enclosure, next to the chicken coup. So when I went to check on him I didn’t see him. I went around to the other side to see all the chickens sitting outside. I was too busy to contemplate the reason why. So I grabbed a chicken and tried to bring it in but it jumped out of my
hands and ran. So I get in and to my sad amazement and there is a half-eaten peacock in the chicken side. I am completely confused because it would be very difficult to go from one side to the other. Up to
this point I had not seen anything out of the ordinary. OK, outside of trying to teach my daughter to drive I can’t remember the last time I was totally horrified. As I raised my head to look around I see 2 feet from my face a large bird of some kind hanging upside down staring at me. I panic, the bird panics and the dogs run in to see what is going on. Apparently, an owl had flown in the chicken coup for dinner when I caught him in the act. Now this creature tries to escape but can’t and ends up on the ground. Now he just sits there and stares at me and I haven’t a clue as to what to do. I try to pick it up but realize that it wasn’t going to work. So I go out and get a stick and try to push it out, but it won’t go. Everybody is barking or squawking and things are getting a little crazy. So finally the owl grabs the stick and I manage to carry him out. I place him in a wheelbarrow where he sits up and finally flies away. Now I am going to put this story out everywhere so no one else will choose us to rescue anything.
Well, the cases of COVID-19 in Sacramento County are increasing much faster than any of us had hoped. I will continue to limit seating. It is now a requirement that everyone comes in with a mask. They will
need to wear it until they eat. Outside, is still the safest, and I will not require a mask outside, but most people want to come inside. I am thinking of having my son play his drums inside to coax people to sit
outside.
Folks here is a link to an article on how successful masks are in preventing the spread of the virus:
